Hi Mat & Sarah,
I just wanted to put into print, my appreciation and satisfaction in both yourselves as stylists and your salon.
I came to Sarah just on a year ago when you first opened, with a problem colour and cut (from a previous high profile salon). I walked out a couple of hours later with Sarah having not only managed to fix the immediate problem, but having formulated a long term plan for my style.
I now look forward to my visits instead of with trepidation as I used to. It is a relaxed, friendly atmosphere and your clients are never rushed. I am now at the stage, when I feel like a change of colour I simply take Sarah’s advice and go with it – confidently.
Thanks again for opening a terrific salon and Sarah you are a life saver!!!!

Ever said goodbye to a great stylist because you had to move or the Salon closed down? It is sometimes really hard to find another stylist that you trust and someone that really wants to get to know you and your hair…. When I moved back to Canberra I wasn’t sure how I was going to find a good Salon as I had had some bad experiences in years past.
A friend told me about Salon Altenburg and as soon as I walked in the Salon, I felt at ease and I have been going regularly for near on a year now.
The following list are points to consider when looking for that special Salon. What do you think?
#1 Communication – you have to be able to talk to one another clearly to establish what styles you like and dislike, what you are looking for.
#2 You should not feel intimidated when you walk into a Salon – the staff should be friendly and welcoming and the place should have a good aura
#3 When a stylist invests his/her time in you to get to know you and what you want, you will spend a little more money for that…. it is worth the extra as your hair is an investment and part of your self-image, isn’t it?
#4 Other people’s recommendation. If you see someone with great looking hair, ask them who looks after it as they probably have a great hair stylist…..
I’m glad I found Salon Altenburg and if you haven’t found your special stylist yet, come into the Salon and watch them at work one day…..call them up for suitable times and take a seat…..it’s worth it!

Being someone that has always had either shoulder length or long hair has always seemed to be a problem in the past when it came to deciding how much Salons’ would charge me.
When I had Shoulder Length I naturally thought I would be charged for Shoulder Length Hair. Makes sense right? Well, NO – Different Salons seemed to have their own ideas as to what they considered Shoulder or Long (often after I had sat down in their chair!). So I was always told I had Long Hair! I didn’t understand why and was never told the real reasons.
Anyway, I’ve finally found out the costing was a kick back from when it actually took longer to dry longer hair – back in the late 1990′s – early 2000′s!
It was GREAT to find Salon Altenburg – I am no longer penalised or charged extra for having long hair! Yay!!!!!
